The Sunday when It Happened

The day 26th December 2004, looks like any normal Sunday. It was a day after Christmas and thus a long holiday weekend. It is also a wedding season, here. Yesterday, we attended three weddings, One in Taman Ehsan, and two in Temerloh. By about 12.30 we had readied to attend the wedding of Salihin's son, at FRIM.

I had known Salihin since I was a student at the Forestry College and Salihin had inherited the skills of Malay traditional massage from his father so many people who knew that would go to frequently visit him for a massage.

I had been one of his clients for many years since i move into frim in 1985 although not on a very regular basis. So when one receives a wedding invitation like that, one have to put it in the high priority list. That morning, all except my two daughters readied to attend the wedding.

Salihin's guests were flowing in an out. A lot of them. You dont have to be rich or famous to receive so many guest. You just need to be good to people. As we were about to leave, a taxi, stopped and the Malay driver asked if there is any problem allowing his foreigners passengers take photographs. We moved on along and then went home.

My daughter were all set for the drive to go back her school in Gopeng, Perak. She is currently doing her Science Metriculation, prior to accentance for a seat in the university. Very soon we were on the way to send the daughter, Aimi back to her hostel. With her for this is her elder sister, my wife, my son afiq and and youngest daughter, safwa and her college friend, . The two hour journey on our Rexton was quite usual and upon reaching, we drove back to Kuala Lumpur as quickly as we came.

By the time we reached home it was just in time for the prime news and there we first heard about a big wave that hit Penang. Some freak wave. Unknown to us was the next few days that we would be flooded with news that we had never imagined could happen too the region, and so close to malaysia, in our lifetime. The ASIAN TSUNAMI.

THE TRAINING CENTRE

Beginning 1st January, 2005, 2nd Floor, the Training Centre of SEPAKAT Computer Consultant will be handled over to us so that we run it profitable. I look forward to make it something worthwhile, meaningful and most importantly profitable and that we would be expanding our scope to cater for this new venture.

Training had always been very close to my heart. I spend my early years of career at the Logging Training Centre in Terengganu. There we produced 3 one year certificates namely, Certificate in Logging, Certificate in Heavy Machinery and Certificate in Forest Survey and Inventory. I first learn the concepts of overlaying and basics to Geographic Information System and got my self interested in Computing, there.

Later I moved to Kepong Forestry Training Unit, to teach Forest Survey, but I ended up seeing the computing needs of the School. Because of that, they identified me to the forthcoming Asean Institute of Forest Management, Kuala Lumpur. So in essence, I had been in training for most of my carreer.

It is a very satisfying feeling to see guys that took courses with you made it in life. I am also a firm believer in lifelong learning.

If you have ideas to help us jumpstart this new venture, put your ideas in the Comments. Who knows you might win a holiday trip for your comments or contributions..

The other day we bent spoons...

Richard taught us how to bent spoons in our last TEE2 meeting. And some went home happier than others with this new found capability. And the answer is all in the mind.

Talking about Mind and the coming new year, I derived this from one of the many emails that reached me....

1: Clarifying What You Really Want
* How to figure out once and for all what you really want from life
* The dynamic power of will
* The 3 Foundations for living a Happy and Successful life

2: Effective Strategies for Goal Achievement
* Why most attempts at Goal Setting fail
* The key components of manifesting your desires
* The importance of "possibility thinking"

3: Identifying and Eliminating Your Tolerations & N.U.T.s
* How to immediately begin increasing your physical and mental energy
levels
* The easy way to vanquish stress
* How to eliminate repetitive energy drains

4: Discovering and Utilizing Your Unique Talents & Abilities
* How to uncover your own Unique Talents and Abilities
* Why self-assessment of your strengths is ineffective
* The #1 area you want to spend most of your time in

5: Consciously Controlling and Directing Your Thinking
* How to build habits of thought and action that guarantee your ongoing
ability to succeed in whatever you set out to accomplish
* How to begin reprogramming your negative thinking and beliefs to
catapult you towards your goals
* The power to create and attract everything you want

What could we achieve if we had all that skills with us, and that somehow, someone taught us to do it.

Happy SEASONS GREETINGS

We have to create our own destiny Posted by Hello

Everyone loves LC or Letter of Credit but....

L/C or Letters of Credit for indigenous purchases or import of raw materials, components, finished goods and plant and machinery are convenient trade facilities for business. The L/C could be sight or usance with a tenor usually not exceeding 180 days.

To get a better understanding of L/C, visit http://www.crfonline.org/orc/cro/cro-9-1.html .

Most of our suppliers wanted L/C as it is a very secure mode of payment. And since we are quite new to this L/C game, (we used to just let SCC take care all of those) and by the time we finish invoicing our forth invoice by the middle of December, we should have a wealth of experience with it already.

Lots of blood raising Fun and we rocked and we rolled.

PLC, Affin Bank, Post Dated cheques, 30 days, current and 60 days. Maybank, Pudu, Sultan Ismail, Menara, Muamalat, HSBC and Banks in general.

What?
60 days?

And the results will be on our side!

But all passed, Fitri, everyone survived to the next stage.

The Apprentice.
